For the 2011 Folkestone Triennial Strange Cargo are producing a People’s Guidebook to Folkestone. We need you to think about places that trigger a memory and then share your ideas with us to go into the book.

‘Identity’ is the main source of inspiration in Martine’s work. She focuses on everyday objects and landscapes. By placing these in a particular context, Martine creates a thought-provoking and fascinating perspective – and in this way she explores how identity is created and influenced by its environment.

Opening on Friday 28th May, contemporary painters Tina Atchison-Thomas and Harriet Gifford will present commonalities and contrasts of light, darkness, colour and texture through new painted works.
