Avelynne the Giant

In 2007 Strange Cargo worked with staff, students and parents of Aveley Primary to explore ways for them to raise their heads above the parapet of village life.

Avelynne, their new giant, proved to be a great way to open the village gates. Avelynne the Giant and her friends regularly visit other Giants in the UK, France and Belgium for festivals, carnivals and parades. And early curriculum links fuelled by the notion of the Géants phenomenon have given the future plans of the students and villagers an international context.
