Echoes in the Stones
Echoes in the Stones 2001 was a vibrant celebration that brought together community groups and local schools, all part of the Believing in Folkestone initiative. This event honoured contemporary Folkestone while paying tribute to some of the town's notable figures.
The evening was a spectacular showcase featuring dynamic projections onto the Town Hall and a giant screen at Sunny Sands. The celebrations were further enhanced by a dazzling pyrotechnic display and a stunning procession of illuminated paper sculptures. These sculptures, along with hand-held tissue and willow lanterns, were crafted by students from schools across the town, adding a personal touch to the festivities. The combination of these elements created a memorable night, blending artistry and community spirit in a truly enchanting way.
