The Festival d'Humor in Tourcoing
The Festival d'Humor in Tourcoing, France takes place annually and involves a range of practitioners from across Europe in a two week festival of performances and events. A team of ten artists from Strange Cargo took up residence in an old stable block for three weeks and together with students from l'École d'Art in Tourcoing created the elements and performance that was delivered as part of the festival.
The combination of local artist input and Strange Cargo's skills in building and performing culminated in a piece called The Mininstry of Humour. A processing and performance of three suited and serious Ministers whose job is was to restrict the level of fun experienced during the festival. The performance culminated in the unleashing of the Ministers inner party selves.
