Other People’s Photograoh’s: The Making of a Very Public Artwork

Other People’s Photographs is the definitive book documenting the creation of the permanent public art installation featuring personal photographs of family and friends from the streets of Folkestone, Cheriton, and Sandgate. This full-colour A4 landscape book showcases over 740 images donated by the public, revealing the stories behind each photograph for the first time. It includes images of the now-iconic signs that characterize the area, beginning with the most recent colour photographs and moving chronologically back to the 1800s, capturing the collective experiences that connect us through the generations.

The book is beautifully printed and features a foreword by Brett Rogers, Director of The Photographers' Gallery in London. Other People’s Photographs is available for £25.00 through our book sales page and at Waterstones in Folkestone. For further enquiries, please call 01303 278821 or email info@strangecargo.org.uk.
