The Turning Wave
"The Turning Wave" was a community-driven celebration performed along the dockside and harbour waters of De Bradelei Wharf. In 1999, Strange Cargo was commissioned to create the Millennium Trilogy, a three-year programme of outdoor performances in public spaces throughout the town. The first performance of the trilogy delved into Dover's rich history and its significance as the gateway to the country. During a residency at the Old Park Barracks, the company crafted the scenery, costumes, and props, while a voluntary cast of performers was rehearsed, bringing this remarkable production to life.
