"Water carries us to other waters, to other lands, to other people."

Inspired by the Festival of the Sea in Salvador, Brazil, Yemanja combined carnival traditions from around the world. This spectacular event, which opened the 2002 Canterbury Festival, featured a stunning array of giant puppets, vibrant carnival costumes, live music, and dynamic dance performances.

Strange Cargo, in collaboration with Kinetika and Trinidadian sculptural designer Murphy Winters, crafted a breathtaking fusion of imagery and techniques. This partnership not only showcased a diverse palette of artistic styles but also deepened the company's approach to engaging communities in celebratory events.
