Strange Cargo encourages artists to support the dismantling of cultural hierarchy through new residency programme.

The Resident Platform creates an anchor point for a collaborative practice involving professional artists and local residents; establishing a new order for the cultural landscape that explores the purpose of public art within the places it exists.

Artists are invited to bring their practice to Cheriton to create a new sculpture for Folkestone West Station. This will be a companion to a second sculpture made by local people through a participatory process delivered by Strange Cargo and observed by the artist.

Alongside a new public artwork, artists create an exhibition in the Strange Cargo gallery.
